Years ago when I first tried to get Sovereign Ground published, an editor told me, “Christians don’t want to read about the sex industry — it’s too dark.”
While I do agree that’s true for some, things are changing. There are many sides to this sex industry issue including #NotYourRescueProject but Christians have taken notice. Proof is in the list below — you can add your voice by buying one. A few of these send 100% of their proceeds to a trafficking prevention/awareness organization.
Fiction can be a powerful medium — especially in creating awareness. I haven’t read all of these books so I can’t tell you how graphic they are or for what age group they are intended. If you are buying it because the proceeds are donated to charity, research the charity.
My answer to the publisher was, “When the church is ready, I’ll be waiting.” So here is a list (waiting until you’re ready) in no particular order:
The Lights of Tenth Street Shaunti Feldhahn http://www.shaunti.com/book/fiction/the-lights-of-tenth-street/ |

More Than Rice: A Journey Through the Underworld of Human Trafficking Pamala Kennedy Chestnut |
River of Innocents Terry Lee Wright http://endhumantrafficking.co.za/river-of-innocents-terry-lee-wright-2008/ |
The Sunken Cathedral: A Human Trafficking Novel Nicholas Sheppard |

I included the author page or something close, not affiliate links. Comment if you have a title you’d like to add or if you recommend one of these in particular.

I missed the important piece that this was fiction works! Mine is non-fiction! Should have waited to respond. Sorry!
That’s fine–I like the suggestion anyway.
There are excellent Non fiction as well. Some not as graphic.
Elizabeth, I have seen so many non fiction lately. Do you recommend on in particular?
