I finished my third manuscript this morning. What an interesting journey. Watch this video posted on the Fliterary blog to see what I mean.
My first manuscript took me nearly ten years to write. There were years in between sections where I feared finishing it because I didn’t know what I’d do with it after. (I hadn’t yet read The War of Art. Speaking of that–I need to finish it.)
My second story took about five years to finish. I even spent a little time editing that one.
This one took me one year from start to finish. My Mr. Knightly said that was a “go out to dinner” kind of celebration.
Now what? I think I’ll take the advice I read on Novel Matters this morning and find a copy of Stein on Writing.
