Lifting a branch and finding spots of edible color is one of my favorite things. It makes the work worthwhile when I can bring in a bowl of raspberries for breakfast. Or eat a tomato that is still warmed from the sun. Nothing tastes like minute-old fruit!
Of course my Mr Knightly complains when the fruit is so fresh it crawls. I think I need to pick up some Dr. Bronner’s (or other) vegetable soap. Sometimes a few bugs will even make him lose his appetite for raspberries. Ah, the pleasures of organic gardening.
